Building of America Award Botulinum Research Center. The Research Building at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth has been selected to receive a Building of America Award and Dr. Thermos / Strategic Technology Group was honored as a core team member responsible for the Security Design of the site at Bio-level III. The building is devoted exclusively to scientific research and is surrounded by a security barrier that speaks volumes about its mission. Programs to be conducted at the 22,000-square-foot, $14.4 million Botulinum Center, involve genomics, bioinformatics, enzyme studies, cellular trafficking, and structural biology research. Half of the facility is regulated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the US Department of Agriculture, will be devoted to the Botulinum Center. The biotechnology laboratory is designed for bioengineering and molecular biology research, and is home to the university's National Institutes Health National-sponsored Botulinum Research Center.
